After the Chiefs, the team with the strongest odds to make the playoffs are the Ravens at -1000. The Ravens had the best record in the NFL last season at 14-2 before faltering in the playoffs.

The Las Vegas Raiders upgraded their defense, while the Denver Broncos added a pair of Pro Bowlers on the defensive side of the ball and upgraded at wide receiver via the NFL draft. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Chargers still have one of the most talented rosters in football, and will hope quarterback Tyrod Taylor can help the team rebound from a subpar 2019.

Moreover, Kansas City's defense is on some shaky ground if they cannot reach an agreement on a long-term deal with defensive tackle Chris Jones, who might orchestrate a holdout.

This is not to say the Chiefs will miss the postseason. However, it is a bit of a surprise they are such overwhelming favorites, even in spite of being the reigning champions.
