Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones was hoping to get some new followers on Twitch.tv at the start of the weekend.

Jones shared his PSN ID on Twitter, imploring his followers to add him.

Unfortunately for Jones, his teammates used this as an excuse to mock his gaming skills.

Chiefs wideout Tyreek Hill and quarterback Patrick Mahomes both called Jones “trash,” and linebacker Anthony Hitchens also chimed in.

Plenty of professional athletes have turned to gaming as a hobby amid the coronavirus pandemic. Jones is just the latest, though his teammates are not as high on his stick skills as they are on his football ability.

Then again, perhaps Jones' teammates should ease off a bit.

The Chiefs used their franchise tag on Jones, but he has not shown much interest in signing the tender at any point this offseason.

Reports surfaced shortly after Jones received the non-exclusive tender suggesting the Chiefs might look to trade Jones. However, they are intent on keeping their star lineman.

In essence, the Chiefs will have to negotiate an extension with Jones before the summer deadline if they hope to avoid a potential holdout.

Jones has been one of the best interior linemen in football for the last two years.

The 25-year-old had 15.5 sacks in 2018, and he followed that by racking up 9.0 sacks last season. Jones is a deterrent up the middle, and his 23 batted passes are the most of any interior defender since 2016.

Kansas City returns 10 of 11 starters from the Super Bowl squad, and that continuity bodes well for the unit's success in 2020.

However, the Chiefs need to do their best to sign Jones to an extension to ensure a sense of security moving forward.
