Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs' offense are entering a new era, the post-Tyreek Hill age. Since Mahomes was named the starter in 2018, he and Hill have combined to create sweet music for the Chiefs, whose offense has ranked first in points per game, yards per contest and yards per play in that span.
With Hill traded to the Dolphins, the Chiefs will need other players to step up in the receiver room. Judging by Mahomes' comments, this new secret weapon is already making waves at OTAs, via CBS Sports and Pro Football Talk.
Now it's about him learning the NFL offense. That's how it is for every rookie when they come in, is, you don't see that top talent that they can be until they learn and they can just play fast. And I think you've seen that. You've seen those flashes of how talented he can be. And then you've seen times where he's just barely off of what we wanted. And he learns from that, he doesn't make that same mistake.
“And so, the more and more reps that he gets, I can only imagine how good he's going to be because of the talent he possesses.”
Mahomes raved about undrafted free agent Justyn Ross, who went viral for making an insane one-handed grab at OTAs on Wednesday.

The 6'4″, 205-pound Ross looked like a surefire future first round pick after his freshman season at Clemson in 2018, when he caught 46 passes for 1000 yards and nine scores.
However, he missed time due to a spinal condition and foot injury.
Now healthy, Ross is already wowing the Chiefs, especially their best player.
