The Kansas City Chiefs and their fans were waiting with bated breath to hear the status of star wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who was on the reserve/COVID list, for the Week 16 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Via NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Chiefs and quarterback Patrick Mahomes received a huge update on the status of Hill.

That's the best possible Tyreek Hill status update that Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs could have possibly gotten ahead of the Steelers game. Rapoport added that the Chiefs are expected to activate tight end Travis Kelce but that the star pass-catcher hasn't yet cleared the COVID protocols.

The Steelers defense won't like to hear that Hill will be out there, as the dynamic wideout is coming off of a 12-catch, 148-yard effort against the Los Angeles Chargers in his last game out on the field. Mahomes is hard enough to stop as it is, but his downfield connection with the speedy Chiefs wideout is enough to make defensive coordinators pull their hair out.

The news on Hill is also a great Christmas Day update for the Chiefs star's fantasy football managers, who were likely counting on him to be available against the Steelers for the championship round of their respective leagues.

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense will now be in a lot better shape against the Steelers after the news that Tyreek Hill cleared the COVID protocols.
