Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is still trying to recover from their Super Bowl 55 loss at the hands of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but he's about to have his life changed forever soon. While speaking about Mahomes' surgery, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport pointed out that Mahomes is going to need fresh legs to chase his baby soon.

Back in the AFC Divisional Round against the Cleveland Browns, Mahomes sustained two injuries during the game. Before Mahomes suffered a concussion that would cause him to be ruled out in the second half, the former NFL MVP appeared to have hurt his foot earlier in the contest.

Mahomes underwent tests after the win over Cleveland and was diagnosed with a turf toe, an injury that could limit his mobility, especially when ad-libbing plays out of the pocket.

Ahead of Sunday's Super Bowl, it was reported that Mahomes would undergo surgery on his toe in the offseason. Seeing that the Chiefs lost in a blowout, Mahomes decided to go under the knife on Wednesday, which Rapoport said went well for the All-Pro quarterback.

Mahomes will need several months to fully rehab his toe ailment after undergoing surgery. At the same time, Mahomes' fiance is pregnant with Mahomes' first kid and the two are expecting her to give birth in the near future. Provided that, Mahomes hopes to get healthy as soon as possible so he can conduct his dad duties without any hiccups due to his nagging toe injury.

Patrick Mahomes, who is still just 25 years old, signed a 10-year deal worth $450 million in 2020 with the Chiefs.
