ESPN's Shannon Sharpe has singled out the NFL's GOAT tight end. He considers the Kansas City Chiefs' Travis Kelce worthy of that distinction, per First Take's official Instagram account. Interestingly enough, Shannon Sharpe considers Travis Kelce's former Chiefs teammate Tyreek Hill the most dangerous pass catcher.

Travis Kelce: Shannon Sharpe's GOAT tight end

The 34-year-old Kelce is in his 11th season with the Chiefs. He has racked up 10,586 receiving yards and 72 touchdowns on 841 receptions for Kansas City. He is on pace to record his eighth straight 1,000-plus yard season – an NFL record for tight ends.

Travis Kelce is just the fifth tight end in league history to surpass 10,000 yards. He recently rewrote the NFL record books when he racked up 100 yards in the first half twice in the same season. Prior to Kelce's feat, no tight end had done that in almost 25 years.

When one mentions the name “Travis Kelce” nowadays, it's synonymous with the greatest tight ends in NFL history: Tony Gonzalez, Rob Gronkowski, Kellen Winslow, Sr., and Antonio Gates. Shannon Sharpe, a Hall of Fame Denver Broncos tight end, is part of that elite group. In fact, Sharpe was the first tight end to rack up 10,000 receiving yards in his career.

On the other hand, Tyreek Hill is arguably the fastest wide receiver in the NFL today. Defensive backs eat his dust whenever he turns on the afterburners. He's not known as “The Cheetah” for nothing. Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill helped the Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV.

Tyreek Hill has become one of Tua Tagovailoa's favorite targets with the Miami Dolphins. When you throw in guys such as De'Von Achane and Raheem Mostert, the Dolphins have one of the NFL's best offenses. Nobody will ever forget their 70-20 thrashing of the Denver Broncos in Week 3 anytime soon.

Will the Chiefs and Dolphins eventually square off in the AFC Championship Game? Stay tuned.
