Tom Brady doesn't want Chiefs fans to be happy… but he doesn't want them to live in fear, either. The Madden 2020 cover has been revealed – and Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes received the honor. This immediately led to a lot of people freaking out about the “Madden Curse” now ready to strike on Mahomes.
Tom Brady is here to calm everyone down. He's certainly not scared of the curse.
Nah it’s cool, we broke the curse #gopats

Good on Tom Brady not to let the curse scare people. Let's be honest – it's heavily blown out of proportion. Patrick Mahomes shouldn't worry about it.
Admittedly, there were some bad “curses” that came with the Madden cover. The first few years particularly weren't good. Due to that, the “curse” came to be.
However, plenty of seasons didn't end with curses for the players. Other times, you can't really blame the cover. Were players like Vince Young and Peyton Hillis cursed? Or were they never really that good in the first place?
Article Continues BelowThen there are recent years. 2013? Calvin Johnson was awesome. To be fair, Adrian Peterson was the cover athlete in 2014 and only played in one game that year.
2015 and 2016? Richard Sherman and Odell Beckham Jr. were dominant as usual.
Next up was Rob Gronkowski in 2017. You could argue he got the “curse” as he had plenty of injuries that year, but that's something he's always dealt with. It's like 2009 with Brett Favre. The argument with him was that he threw a lot (22) of interceptions. However, interceptions were almost always a part of his game.
Then there's Tom Brady in 2018 – the man that claims to have killed the curse. He won the MVP award and got the Patriots to the Super Bowl (where they did lose). They won it the next year though.
Finally, Antonio Brown put up monster numbers in 2019 after gracing the Madden 2019 cover. He's also on a new team (Oakland Raiders) now where he seems happy.
