The Miami Dolphins ventured through the season opener against the Tennesee Titans without the services of wide receiver DeVante Parker, who is currently recovering from a broken finger.
With that in mind, head coach Adam Gase voiced that Parker is pushing hard to get back on the field for Week 2 against the New York Jets, according to Armando Salguero of The Miami Herald.
Adam Gase says DeVante Parker seems fine. Says DeVante is "itching to play."

The Dolphins were able to get by in the passing game without Parker, as Kenny Stills picked up the bulk of the work, recording four catches for 106 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns that helped them earn a 27-20 win. Beyond that, no other wide receiver stood out, as Jakeem Grant had five catches for 38 receiving yards while offseason addition Danny Amendola had four receptions for 26 receiving yards. In total, quarterback Ryan Tannehill completed 20-of-28 passes for 230 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
Miami is hoping Parker can step into the fray and become their leading target in the passing game with Pro Bowler Jarvis Landry out of the mix. Parker is coming off a solid 2017 season where he made a career-high 57 catches for 670 receiving yards and a touchdown in 13 games played. However, the injury bug has played a big factor in preventing him from truly taking off a bonafide talent through his first few years in the league. He has shown flashes of potential but has yet to capitalize on any of those steps forward.
Once Parker does return to the field, he has a chance to secure a significant role in the passing game as possibly the top receiving option for Tannehill, bringing another dynamic to offense. First, he has to fully heal from the broken finger that has forced him to be sidelined the last few weeks.
