As Adrian Peterson hobbled off the field at the Vikings‘ new stadium on Sunday night, Minnesota fans feared the worst. It looked like AD (don't call him AP) may have suffered another torn ACL.

First Teddy Bridgewater, and now Adrian Peterson.

Luckily, the Vikings dodged a bullet.

Peterson was diagnosed with a torn meniscus, an injury with a much less rigorous return timetable. In fact, it's an injury that Adrian could apppa play through, and at the moment, he hasn't officially been ruled out for Week 3.

However, Ed Werder of ESPN reports that Minnesota's coaching staff is preparing for Peterson to miss at least one week. They're hoping to avoid surgery, which would force Adrian to miss several weeks.

UPDATE (10:30 AM PST): The Vikings have announced that Peterson will indeed undergo surgery, forcing him to miss several months.
