The Minnesota Vikings appear to be witnessing the return of Adam Thielen. On Thursday, for the second day in a row, Pro Bowl wide receiver Adam Thielen practiced in a limited fashion, per the team's injury report.
Previously, Thielen injured his hamstring in Week 7 against the Detroit Lions. He returned to face the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 9, only to play seven snaps before the Vikings ultimately lost the game. He has not played since.
After practicing for the second consecutive day, Thielen called Thursday a “win,” while diagraming how he has approached his recovery.
“Honestly right now, I’m just taking it one day at a time. I’m focusing on today,” Thielen said, via the team's official website. “Today was a win for me, just getting back out there. Just focusing on the day… and tomorrow is the same thing. Just focus on that day and see how it goes and go from there.”
Thielen was listed as questionable in Week 13's loss to the Seattle Seahawks. However, he was downgraded days before the game. In Week 14, he was doubtful to play in a win over the Detroit Lions and did not play. He was not ready to go then.
“Just wasn’t ready to go. I couldn’t do my job at the level I needed to do to be successful and help our team,” Thielen said. “If I can’t go 100 percent, I can’t do my job and I can’t play.”
The growing belief is that the two-time Pro-Bowl wide receiver will play on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers.
