The biggest question already surrounding the Minnesota Vikings this offseason is what they'll do with all of their quarterbacks. At the forefront of that will be Case Keenum, who is in line to become a free agent after completing his first season in Minnesota.

Despite Keenum putting together a career-best season while leading the Vikings to their first NFC Championship game in eight years, there is much uncertainty about his place in the franchise's long-term plans.

During a recent interview on 1500 ESPN in Minnesota, the 29-year-old voiced his strong desire to re-sign with the Vikings. stating that the team has “some unfinished business.” At the same time, he recognizes that things could easily turn out much differently.

“We love Minnesota, we love it here, we love the season we had, we definitely feel like there’s some unfinished business with how things ended,” Keenum said on 1500 ESPN in Minneapolis. “At the same time, we understand tough decisions have to be made and so we’ll see what happens.”

There is a clear understanding that this situation is out of his control because Minnesota may not be willing to meet his expected request for a lucrative contract after stringing together his best season. In 15 games played, Keenum recorded career-bests across the board with 3,547 yards, 22 touchdowns, and just seven interceptions while holding a 98.3 quarterback rating. He finished second in the league with a 67.8 percent completion rate and seventh in quarterback rating.

Keenum also posted a passer rating above 100 eight times while throwing multiple touchdowns seven times. He took full advantage of the opportunity in front of him after Sam Bradford was sidelined for just a couple weeks into the season.

Once free agency begins, the Vikings have to decide who is the future between their three quarterbacks in Keenum, Bradford, and Teddy Bridgewater. The short and long-term future of the franchise is in the balance.
