The Minnesota Vikings have quite the quarterback conundrum on their hands this offseason. Although Sam Bradford was initially pegged as the starter for Teddy Bridgewater coming into the 2017 NFL season, his injury soon made way for the ascendance of Case Keenum.

However, wide receiver Stefon Diggs is not ready to count Bridgewater out just yet. According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Diggs feels the year off did wonders for Teddy's football IQ:

“As a quarterback, I would say that year off gave him like a mental year,” Diggs said. “At the quarterback position . . . you learn as you go. You get better watching. You see things a little differently, rather than being out there making the mistakes. . . . He’s taken that mental step to becoming an elite quarterback. . . . I would say his IQ went up a notch.”

Bridgewater was one of the more promising young quarterbacks in the league before suffering a devastating knee injury prior to the 2016 season. There were even doubts about him ever returning to the NFL. Fortunately, all signs point to a full recovery for Bridgewater, and his time away from the gridiron gave him an opportunity to study the game from the outside.

Minnesota has some big decisions to make this offseason. All three of their quarterbacks are set to enter free agency and will undoubtedly garner attention from a number of teams struggling to find consistency under center.

That said, Minnesota will soon have to decide which of the three they want to roll with moving forward. Although Diggs enjoyed a stellar season with Keenum at the helm, it seems he is excited about the prospect of Bridgewater's return.
