The New Orleans Saints struck gold when they landed Alvin Kamara in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. The Saints running back has showcased his dual-threat ability and explains how he continues to evolve.
“It’s definitely been a different grind, from my conditioning, to the way I train working with the weights, to the way I eat,” Kamara said. “Just trying to find the next evolution of my body. My trainer does a good job of trying to find ways to get me to fail. He’s trying to find something to get me off-balance. I see the results (on the field).”
Since arriving in New Orleans two years ago, Kamara has been part of the NFL's best rushing duo with Mark Ingram. Now, in 2019, Kamara is expected to be handed the bulk of the workload with Ingram departing in free agency.
The team added Latavius Murray to replace Ingram, but he won't have the exact same role as Ingram.

Along with the rushing abilities, Kamara has been a difference-maker as a pass catcher as well. In just two seasons, the Saints' versatile running back has caught 162 passes for 1,535 yards and nine touchdowns.
Even without a hefty workload, Kamara has become one of the league's best at the running back position. This year, we may see Payton unleash the best version of his unstoppable weapon alongside Drew Brees.
