New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees currently holds the NFL record for the best completion percentage in a single season, completing 72 percent of his passes in 2017.

Well, Brees seems poised to shatter that mark, per Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk.

Through 14 games this season, Brees has completed 74.9 percent of his passes, meaning that he would need to lay a couple of absolute stinkers in the final two games of the 2018 campaign to not break his own record.

The 39-year-old is the frontrunner for the NFL's Most Valuable Player award this year, courtesy of 3,666 yards, 31 touchdowns, just five interceptions and a league-leading passer rating of 116.8 to go along with his pinpoint accuracy.

Brees has had four games this season where he has completed over 80 percent of his throws, with his best mark of 88 percent coming in the Saints' win over the Cincinnati Bengals back on Nov. 11.

The Austin, Tx. native was just named to his third consecutive Pro Bowl.

Brees, who played his collegiate football at Purdue University, was originally selected by the San Diego Chargers in the second round (32nd pick overall) of the 2001 NFL Draft.

He spent the first five years of his career with the Chargers, making one Pro Bowl.

However, Brees did not truly break out until he got to New Orleans in 2006, throwing for a league-leading 4,418 yards en route to a Pro Bowl appearance and a First-Team All-Pro selection.

Overall during his time with the Saints, Brees has made 11 trips to Honolulu and won a Super Bowl MVP back in the 2009-10 campaign.
