The New Orleans Saints are playing the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. Saints kicker Wil Lutz was on a phenomenal run which led to an NFL record. Unfortunately, he immediately ended that run.

Adam Hoge reported that the 25-year-old made history by completing 35 straight field goals on the road. Of course, he immediately ended the streak after achieving that feat.

It's a funny moment that could have been written up by a comedy writer, but it takes away from the magnitude of the achievement Lutz pulled off for the Saints.

The kicker is one of the most high-pressure positions in the NFL, and a failure to make a field goal could make or break a season. Bears fans are familiar with this feeling as they watched Coody Parkey end their 2018 season with the terrible field goal attempt. Now a Tennessee Titan, Parkey admitted that he felt terrible about missing the attempt.

Just scoring a field goal is a tough feat to do. To be able to do so consecutively against aggressive crowds is an impressive feat in and of itself. It showcases how important he's been to the team's successes without Drew Brees. He's one of the reasons why the team is still enjoying great victories in spite of their franchise QB's injury.

The streak may be over, but the Saints lead 26-10 late in the third quarter. Wil Lutz probably won't regret this missed kick.
