The New York Jets' miserable 2019 campaign has largely been a result of injuries up and down the roster just as much as it has been about underwhelming performance, and one of their most significant injuries has been linebacker C.J. Mosley.
Mosley suffered a groin injury during the second half of the Jets' Week 1 loss to the Buffalo Bills, an injury that kept him out for five games. He finally returned in Week 7, but re-aggravated the issue during a loss to the New England Patriots and did not play in the team's Week 8 defeat at the hands of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Now, the 27-year-old may be out for an extended period of time yet again.
According to Kimberly Jones of NFL Network, Jets head coach Adam Gase said that Mosley will be out for five-to-six more weeks. Gase added that Mosley saw a specialist and is trying to avoid surgery.

He got off to a terrific start in the season opener, logging six tackles, an interception, a fumble recovery and a defensive touchdown before suffering the injury. Mosley added three more tackles in Week 7, bringing his total to nine for the season.
The Theodore, Al. native, who played his collegiate football at the University of Alabama, was originally selected by the Baltimore Ravens with the 17th overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft.
He spent his first five seasons in Baltimore, making four Pro Bowl appearances. Also, during that time, he missed just three games, so being injured is relatively uncharted territory for Mosley.
