The New York Jets were hammered by the New England Patriots by a score of 33-0 on Monday night, and afterward, Jets safety Jamal Adams described the loss in the only way possible.
According to Rich Cimini of ESPN NFL Nation, Adams called the defeat “embarrassing” before quickly leaving the locker room.
Adams logged five tackles in the loss.
The Jets accumulated just 154 total yards on the night and turned the ball over six times. They were also hit with eight penalties for 60 yards and were nearly doubled up in time of possession, with the Patriots having the ball for 38 minutes and 27 seconds while Gang Green only had possession for 21 minutes and 33 seconds.
The humiliating defeat comes just one week after New York showed signs of life with a 24-22 victory over the Dallas Cowboys, which marked the Jets' first win of the season.
But, obviously, New York was not ready for New England.
Sam Darnold had a historically bad game, completing just 11 of his 32 passes for 86 yards and four interceptions, good for a passer rating of 3.6.
Le'Veon Bell actually had his most efficient game of the season, carrying the ball 15 times for 70 yards. It represented the first time Bell averaged four yards per carry thus far in 2019.
In spite of Bell's decent outing, the Jets as a whole were beyond terrible, and now, they sit at 1-5 in a season where many expected them to contend for a playoff berth.
New York will head on the road to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars next Sunday.
