The New York Jets entered this offseason with a plethora of salary cap space to add pieces to the puzzle. The team has been active in adding talent to the roster via free agency.
This has seen a strong push from the front office to add veteran wide receiver Terrelle Pryor. According to Ian Rapoport of The NFL Network, the Jets are reportedly nearing a deal with the 28-year-old that is expected to be completed on Thursday tonight.
Free agent WR Terrelle Pryor is closing in on a deal with the #Jets, sources say. They are hammering out final details & should be done tonight. NYJ continues to rework its WRs room with Pryor, formerly of the #Browns and #Redskins.

It was previously reported that the Jets and Seattle Seahawks were the two finalists to acquire Pryor's services. He had a visit with each team over the last few days and received a significant amount of interest from both teams with an opportunity to be a prominent fixture in each offense.
Pryor is coming off a disappointing lone season with the Washington Redskins that saw him haul in just 20 catches for 240 receiving yards and a touchdown in nine games. He struggled tremendously to be a consistent factor in the passing game while a nagging ankle injury led to him requiring season-ending surgery. That said, the addition of Pryor would add another viable target in the passing game for the Jets next season.

This included his first three 100 receiving yard performances of his career while making five or more catches 10 times.
New York is believed to be reworking their wide receiver corps that should see them part ways with at least one of player from the group. They could move on from veteran wideout Robby Anderson, who is in the final year of his three-year, $1.6 million deal with only a $633,334 salary cap hit and a meager $3,334.
What could also impact the Jets' decision is the three additional charges from back in late January after he allegedly fled the police at 105 mph and threatened to sexually assault the arresting officer's wife.
