When Kirk Cousins hits the open market in the next few weeks, he will be one of the most prized players available in free agency.
One of the teams that reportedly have interest in acquiring his services will be the New York Jets. This has already enlisted the recruiting process from many Jet fans to the Pro Bowl quarterback to sign with the team.
Its nearly 50 years since Joe Namath won the Superbowl and Jets fans would make you king of NY if you lead us to the promised land. Young team with heart, good defense, and lots of money and high draft picks. Your throne awaits.

@nyjets have young talent, dedicated fans, and money to spend. You can help us compete for a Super Bowl for many years. And when you raise that Lombardi trophy, you will become an all-time legend in the greatest city in the world.

It is quite evident that the Jets' fanbase is thirsting for a viable starting quarterback that can get the franchise out of the rut they have been in the last seven years missing the playoffs. The team hasn't had any stability since the early days of Mark Sanchez, who guide them to a pair of back-to-back trips to the AFC Championship game.
Article Continues BelowCousins is a markedly better quarterback than Sanchez as he's shown by posting 4,000 passing yards with at least 25 touchdowns and a passer rating above 90 in each of the last three years. He is also coming off another highly productive year where he threw for 4,093 yards on a 64.3 percent completion percentage with 27 touchdown passes to 13 interceptions and 93.9 passer rating.
Although the Jets have had their fair share of struggles over the last few seasons, Cousins has recently given some life to the possibility of joining the team after speaking highly of new offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates. His familiarity with Bates could be the bridge that helps spark conversation toward bringing the 29-year-old abroad.
New York also holds the benefit of being able to offer him the lucrative deal he may be seeking as they currently are projected to have more than $73 million in salary cap space this upcoming offseason. There is at least some appeal for Cousins to join the Jets, but how much remains a mystery at this point.
The public support and recruiting by the fanbase could in some ways have an impact in building some hope to their chances in landing the Pro Bowler in free agency.
