Tom Brady is atop a lot of lists after a Hall of Fame career, including lists of who incoming defenders want to sack the most. New York Jets rookie Quinnen Williams knows that Tom Brady is the No. 1 target for any defensive lineman in the AFC East.

Williams said that getting to sack Brady would be a special experience, and then made a comment about their age difference.

“It’s crazy because Tom Brady started playing in the NFL before I was born,” Williams said. “To sack him would be amazing.”

However, that is not really correct. Williams was born in 1997. Brady was drafted in 2000. While Brady is old, he isn’t quite as old as Williams thinks he is. But Williams has grown up watching Brady win Super Bowls. Now, he will be chasing him down.

Where exactly Williams will play along the defensive line has been a question for Jets coach Adam Gase. Will he be a nose tackle? Will he play over the guard? Can he, Leonard Williams, and Henry Anderson all be on the field together?

“Wherever they put me at, I’m going to play. I’m going to go out there and try to dominate,” Quinnen Williams said Friday at the Jets’ rookie orientation. “If they put me at kickoff returner, I’m going to go crazy. They can put me at anything and I’m going to try to dominate.”

Regardless, the team was thrilled to land Williams with the No. 3 overall pick in last month’s draft. The Jets view Williams as a key piece of their defense who can stop the run and rush the passer from up the middle. He may work extra hard when playing the Pats.
