New York Jets quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is still trying to find his way after not playing for nearly two full seasons due to a devastating leg injury. The 25-year-old signal-caller has looked good thus far in preseason, but he's also still working on trying to get over the mental block that often comes with recovering from a major injury.

That means taking hits, something Bridgewater is seeking out.

Bridgewater was sacked twice and took another hit in the legs in the Jets' 15-13 loss to the Washington Redskins on Thursday night, but he came out of the game healthy and with a solid stat line. The quarterback completed 10 of his 15 pass attempts for 127 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He added one carry for four yards.

This comes after Bridgewater completed all but one of his eight pass attempts in the Jets' preseason opener against the Atlanta Falcons. He also tossed a touchdown in that game.

With Bridgewater looking strong, Jets head coach Todd Bowles has an increasingly harder decision to make when it comes to picking his starting quarterback. Veteran Josh McCown is still on the roster, while No. 3 overall pick Sam Darnold is waiting in the wings as the future franchise quarterback.

The last time Bridgewater was a full-time starter, he threw for 3,231 yards with a 65.3 percent completion for the Minnesota Vikings in 2015. The Vikings went 11-5 before losing to the Seattle Seahawks in the wild-card round.
