The New York Jets have had a miserable season, but the future is bright with Zach Wilson under center. It's been a rocky rookie campaign for him, but he's flashed some serious potential this year. In New York's Week 16 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Wilson showed off his speed with a long touchdown run.
Jets Nation shares the highlight, as it's an impressive run altogether. Zach Wilson appears to fake out a defender as he pretends to run towards the sideline. Instead, the Jets' quarterback turned it upfield and ran it in for six. This is the exact type of production New York needs from Wilson if they hope to improve for next year.
Run, Zach Wilson. RUN 😱

What really makes this long run impressive, is we haven't seen a quarterback score on a long touchdown run for quite some time. According to Field Yates, Wilson's 52-yard touchdown run is the longest we've seen since Marcus Mariota's 87-yard run back in 2015.
Jets QB Zach Wilson just rushed for a 52-yard TD run.
That's the longest TD run by a QB since Marcus Mariota's 87-yarder back in Week 13 of 2015.

Mariota's 87-yard touchdown run was also against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Zach Wilson continues to show off his talents during a troublesome rookie campaign. The Jets have to be excited about their future if their rookie can provide consistent production in the run game.
Keep an eye on the Jets with the offseason nearing. This franchise has a ton of cap space and draft picks to continue building the roster. We should see the front office get aggressive, as they'll try to make massive improvements. Look for Zach Wilson to develop nicely, as he has the tools to be a solid quarterback in the NFL.
