The New York Jets will head into training camp with an enviable quarterback situation. They have their quarterback of the future in Sam Darnold, a capable veteran in Josh McCown, and another young QB in Teddy Bridgewater, whom they can potentially trade for additional assets.

According to Rich Cimini of ESPN, the Jets are indeed open to trading Bridgewater, but it still depends on other conditions.

Yes, the Jets are open to it, but it hinges on a few factors. Namely: Is there a market for him? Right now, the answer is no, but that could change with one injury in the preseason. In 2016, the Eagles were prepared to go into the season with Sam Bradford, Chase Daniel and Wentz, but they traded Bradford to the Vikings, who needed an injury replacement for — wait for it — Bridgewater.

Bridgewater could be deemed expendable if Darnold wins the job. In that scenario, why keep all three? They'd be paying Bridgewater and McCown a total of $16 million to sit on the bench.

Bridgewater still had some significant concerns about his knee this offseason, but he dispelled those doubts after his impressive performances in OTAs, which has caused his trade value to rise.

With Darnold and McCown already aboard, it’s hard to imagine the Jets keeping Bridgewater if a good enough deal comes along. Given the demand for decent quarterbacks, the Jets could fetch a nice haul for Bridgewater from a team in desperate need for QB.

But until that worthwhile offer arrives, the Jets should be content with keeping hold of the young quarterback and letting him compete with Darnold and McCown. At this point, it's not completely out of the question that Bridgewater ends up beating out both Darnold and McCown and start for the Jets, so that QB situation will be one to watch.
