The New York Jets are one of the worst teams in the NFL. If you are wondering how bad is Adam Gase's team, they gave the 0-7 Miami Dolphins their first win of the season. Getting beaten by the team that you left the season prior is not giving Gase a good look.

In fact, the defeat was so horrible that a member of the media had the audacity to ask him if the loss would justify the Jets firing him in the near future. Barry Jackson detailed what happened during the incredibly awkward moment of the Jets' post-game press conference.

It's understandable why Gase didn't want to address the question. Not a single person in their right minds would agree with such a negative statement. However, the question arguably points out how horrible the Jets have been once again.

The Dolphins looked like a superb football team by the way they outplayed the Jets in this game. Ryan Fitzpatrick, who spent two seasons with the Jets in 2015 and 2016, threw for a respectable 288 passing yards and three touchdowns. While the Dolphins were incredibly bad on the running game, the fact that they looked like the New England Patriots is a knock on the entire organization.

Sam Darnold expressed his frustrations, as covered by Elite Sports NY's Billy McInerney:

“We need to execute,” Darnold said. “We need to take what we do in practice and I say it every week, we need to do what we do in practice and make sure that it translates to the game and if we do that, we’ll be just fine.”

It will be a rough week for Gase. However, it wouldn't be surprising if the owner does decide to fire him before the end of the season.
