Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz is not concerned by his struggles after the team's 0-2 start.

Wentz completed under 59 percent of his pass attempts while also throwing four interceptions and losing a fumble in the season opener.

The 27-year-old's play has hardly inspired confidence, but Wentz is blocking out the noise and remaining optimistic (via Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk):

“It’s OK to be frustrated, it’s OK to be a little ticked off,” Eagles QB Carson Wentz said, via Zach Berman of TheAthletic.com. “But you watch the tape and you move on. And so for me, it’s another week, it’s onto the next one. I’m as confident in myself and this team as I’ve ever been.”

Wentz has struggled, though he has not had much help from the offensive line.

The former No. 2 overall pick was sacked eight times in the season opener. Though Wentz was not sacked in a Week 2 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, his young receiving corps misread coverage and ran the wrong route on multiple occasions (via Michael Lombardi of The Athletic):

The same thing occurred this past Sunday against the Rams. Down 21-16 in the third quarter, the Eagles looked as if they were coming back. On the first drive, the Eagles moved the ball to the Rams’ 21-yard line, and Wentz threw an inside post to JJ Arcega-Whiteside, their second-round pick from 2019. Arcega-Whiteside never gets across the face of corner Darious Williams, which is essential for the route to be successful. Arcega-Whiteside runs a lazy route at the top of the stem and Williams beats him to the ball. Now, it looks bad for Wentz, but in both cases, the inexperience of the receivers is as much to blame.

Perhaps Wentz and his receivers can get on the same page, and it would certainly help to establish Miles Sanders as a weapon after a strong performance in Week 2.

The Eagles can still right the ship, especially considering how weak the NFC East should be going forward.

But Philadelphia needs its star signal-caller to back up his confidence with strong play.
