The late NBA legend Kobe Bryant has always been an avid fan of his hometown Philadelphia Eagles.

The former Los Angeles Laker was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and attended the local Lower Merion High School where he first made his name known in the basketball scene. The 23rd of August would have been Bryant's 42nd birthday and Eagles center Jason Kelce decided to commemorate the legend before he took the field.

Recently, the team also recognized the basketball great as they painted a mural in their team facility with ‘Kobe's 10 rules' to follow that will serve as motivation for the Eagles players. Bleacher Report posted the video captured by wide receiver Alshon Jeffery on Twitter:

Kobe Bryant's impact and legacy were felt by athletes across different sports all around the world. The Eagles will be looking to keep him in mind as an inspiration for the team in the upcoming season.

The Eagles are primed to perform well in the upcoming season. After clinching the NFC East division title, the team went on to have a disappointing run in the 2019 NFL Playoffs. The Philly-based team was eventually sacked by the Seattle Seahawks on a 17-9 loss at their home turf. The first-round loss then kicked the team out of the playoff picture.

Their division rivals along with the rest of the league have reloaded their weapons heading into the upcoming season, which will make the Eagles' aspirations harder to reach. Here's to hoping Bryant will serve as an inspiration for the team to grind out a better campaign in 2020.
