It never really was a question but Philadelphia Eagles coach Doug Pederson announced that Nick Foles will be the starting quarterback for their week 16 showdown with the Houston Texans.

Foles threw for 270 yards and an interception against the Los Angeles Rams but most importantly led them to a victory and kept their playoff hopes alive. Foles admitted after the game it was an emotional game because he left bad for Carson Wentz who couldn't be out there, but credited his teammates for the win.

“It was really emotional,” Foles said of this week via ESPN. “You hate for your teammate to get hurt. I've said it before. I feel really bad for Carson. We're tight in that QB room. … You go through the human emotions. I don't care what you've done in the past — it doesn't matter once you step onto that field. It's a new day. It was really just dealing with the emotions, prepping as hard as I could and then realizing I wasn't alone. I have great teammates out there.”

Although the stats aren't eye-opening the offense seemed to have a pop it hasn't had the last few weeks and everyone rose to the occasion. The Eagles don't control their own destiny but if they can win out and the Vikings lose one of their final two games they will be in the playoffs. Foles and the Eagles offense is going to have their hands full against the Texans, a team that has made life hard on opposing offenses all year.
