It's safe to say that the Philadelphia Eagles know how to get the most out of a draft. Despite selection flops in recent years, Howie Roseman is making up for his losses. He turned the Carson Wentz trade into a first-round pick and picked up Heisman Trophy winner Devonta Smith in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Most recently, the Eagles fleeced the New Orleans Saints in a trade solely surrounding draft selections. Philadelphia acquired the 18th, 101st, and 237th overall picks this year, along with a 2023 first-round pick and a 2024 second-round pick. In exchange, the Saints received the 16th, 19th, and 194th picks in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Clearly, the Eagles are looking at the long-term effects that the next few drafts have on their blooming rebuild rather than focusing on a “win now” mentality. Here are our picks for the draft manipulating Eagles in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Philadelphia Eagles: 2022 NFL Mock Draft

Round 1 (#15) – Devin Lloyd (LB, Utah)

Devin Lloyd is highly regarded as one of the best linebackers in the 2022 draft class. He earned a 90.2 PFF rating and is productive in any situation he's put in. The junior out of Utah put his name in lights with his remarkable 2021 season, including his pick-six in the Pac-12 Championship Game against Oregon.

Round 1 (#18) – Jameson Williams (WR, Alabama)

The Eagles are likely focusing on defense in the upcoming draft. However, it would be a huge mistake for Philadelphia to let Jameson Williams by with two first-round picks. The stud receiver is very similar to his Alabama predecessor, current Eagles star Devonta Smith. His offensive impact is untouchable and would be a huge benefit to the Eagles' struggling air game.

Round 2 (#51) – Jalen Pitre (CB, Baylor)

There's definitely room for two Jalen's on the Eagles, but only if the second one is cornerback Jalen Pitre. The senior out of Baylor University is slated to get picked up no later than the second round, making him the perfect selection for the Eagles at #51.

Pitre could work alongside and under the wing of Darius Slay. The veteran Eagles cornerback has brought his game to an extremely high level and would be a great mentor for a promising rookie coming into the league.

Round 3 (#83) – Darrian Beavers (LB, Cincinnati)

Like the first round, the Eagles have two picks in the third round. Also parallel, our mock draft has the team focusing on defense first and offense second. With the 83rd overall pick, the Eagles should pick up another linebacker, specifically Darrian Beavers.

According to Pro Football Focus, the strong side linebacker from the University of Cincinnati was meant to go head-to-head with tight ends. With so many iconic tight ends in the NFL right now, this is Beavers' time to shine.

Round 3 (#101) – Carson Strong (QB, Nevada)

Now, Philadelphia is known for quarterback controversies, but this isn't one of them. They have made it extremely clear that Jalen Hurts is their guy moving forward, at least for the upcoming season. However, it wouldn't hurt to have a solid backup quarterback in the mix.

Carson Strong is one of the less desirable quarterbacks in the 2022 draft class. He will likely fall within the second or third round, which gives the Eagles plenty of time to capitalize on his potential. While he isn't ready to be a starting quarterback right away, Strong has what it takes to fill in if Hurts is unavailable for any reason next year.

Round 4 (#124) – D'Marco Jackson (LB, Appalachian State)

Moving into the fourth round of the draft, the Eagles need to pad their defense. D'Marco Jackson is ranked 133 on the Pro Football Focus Big Board. The senior out of Appalachian State is a great young player for the Eagles to nurture and grow to his full potential.

Round 5 (#154) – Dohnovan West (C, Arizona State)

Meanwhile, the Eagles can also spare a pick or two on their offensive line. Beloved center Jason Kelce almost retired this offseason, but a few kegs of beer and some pleading convinced him to stay. Dohnovan West out of Arizona State is the perfect center to fly under Kelce's wing while he plays what will likely be his final season in the NFL.

Round 5 (#162) – Cordale Flott (CB, LSU)

Similar to Jalen Pitre, Cordale Flott has a lot of potential as an NFL cornerback. However, it makes more sense for the Eagles to wait and draft him later, since he is less sought after in the league. The junior out of Louisiana State University would be a great late-draft pick for Philadelphia.

Round 5 (#166) – Chris Paul (T, Tusla)

It also wouldn't hurt to pick up an offensive tackle in the 2022 NFL Draft. Chris Paul of the University of Tulsa is predominantly a right tackle, but can switch to left if needed. The senior has height and strength on his side to make all necessary tackles and blocks.

Round 7 (#237) –  Noah Elliss (DI, Idaho)

Finally, the Eagles should consider Noah Elliss with the 237th pick in the draft. Elliss is a junior at the University of Idaho. Even as a bench player, the interior defender would provide great support to the Eagles' defense.
