The NFL’s new rules regarding the national anthem have been a hot topic over the last few days. Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown has made it known where he stands on the controversial issue-by kneeling.

The Steelers star posted a photo of himself taking a knee on Instagram and included the caption “”Send the invoice to Christopher Johnson #JetsChairman #Respect #TakeAkneeOnIG #TagMe.”

Brown’s caption is in reference to Jets chairman Christopher Johnson’s recent comments that he would pay Jets players’ fines if they decided to violate the league’s new rules on kneeling during the anthem.

Brown has still not kneeled during the anthem, but he reportedly wanted to early last season, per CBS’ Jason La Canfora. He’s now done so on social media, although it remains to be seen if he’s willing to do the same in an actual game this season.

Perhaps this post is a sign that despite the new rules, he is planning to finally do it. And he might just try to get Johnson to foot the bill for him when he does even though he’s not a part of the Jets organization.

There is a recent report that several “star” players are considering sitting out during the season in support of Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid getting new jobs. Considering Brown’s recent comments to teammate Le’Veon Bell about holding out, it seems unlikely to see him joining such a movement. But he may still decide to show his support for Kap some other way this season.
