Pittsburgh Steelers star running back Le'Veon Bell is in the midst of a holdout that has drawn plenty of scrutiny around the league the longer it continues to linger on.

“He just wants some security. He's got a daughter, he's got a lot going on, he's got a family to provide for,” Gordon continued. “He's not trying to put anything at risk — sometimes as a player you've got to be selfish and think about your family for a little bit. I don't feel like anybody should judge him for that.”
Bell's entire stance is stemming from the workload that he has taken on over the last few years that has become wearing on him even more so with his situation being the lack of security of a long-term contract in place. There lies the possibility that he could suffer a serious injury that would derail his chance to secure a lucrative contract next offseason.
The 26-year-old has certainly put himself in the position to earn a new lucrative deal behind his production over the last several years. In fact, he has earned the reputation as being arguably the best running back in the league with his elite production as a dual-threat factor as a runner and receiver out of the backfield.
Beyond that, Bell's quest to earn a new lucrative contract has helped influence other teams such as Los Angeles Rams and Arizona Cardinals to lock up both Todd Gurley and David Johnson to a large extension. Running backs such as Gordon could benefit greatly from this holdout that could further change the landscape of the contract offers around the league.
