Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell looks set to miss yet another game. After sitting out the team’s season opener against the Cleveland Browns, Bell still hasn’t shown up for the team’s Wednesday meeting ahead of their Week 2 clash against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Bell’s no-show likely means James Conner will once again start at running back for the Steelers. Conner was outstanding in his first career start in their Week 1 tie against the Browns. He rushed for 135 yards with two touchdowns and also had five catches for 57 yards.

Bell has held out since training camp after failing to come to terms on a contract extension with the Steelers. He has yet to sign his franchise tender as he looks to reduce his workload heading into free agency.

The Steelers are reportedly preparing for the possible scenario that they will be without their All-Pro running back for at least 4-6 weeks. They also recently took Bell off their official depth chart.

There doesn’t seem to be much progress being made between Bell and the Steelers as this unfortunate situation continues to unfold. Unless something unexpected occurs, Bell missing meetings, practices, and games will continue to be the status quo for the foreseeable future.

The Steelers have no choice but to move forward without their star running back ahead of their home opener against the Chiefs. Pittsburgh’s offense will need to clean up its act and avoid having another disastrous six-turnover day if they want to beat an explosive Chiefs attack which impressed in Week 1.
