The Pittsburgh Steelers' win over the Tennessee Titans was crucial to their playoff hopes. Despite some controversy near the end of the game, the Steelers prevailed by a score of 19-13.
Pittsburgh surrendered 10 points in the first quarter and entered the fourth quarter down by three and put together three drives that each ended in a field goal from Chris Boswell. As the Titans drove downfield at the end of the game, Joe Haden made a clutch tackle to end their drive on 4th down. The referees almost gave Tennesse the first down but ultimately made the right call, allowing the Steelers to hold on.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said the win was “very necessary” and was proud of how his team handled adversity.

Tomlin also stressed the importance of field position, conceding that the Steelers lost on that front in the first half due to miscues from the punting unit. He gave shoutouts to Haden and Minkah Fitzpatrick.
The Steelers' defense, anchored by Fitzpatrick and T.J. Watt — who set a franchise record in the game —was the ultimate hero in this win, securing four takeaways, three of which were fumbles. Ben Roethlisberger threw for only 148 yards and accounted for the team's only touchdown on a goal-line rush. Pittsburgh's time of possession was almost doubled by Tennessee but Boswell went 4/5 on field goals, allowing Pittsburgh to steal the win.
At 7-6-1, the Steelers are well within the race for the AFC North. Their next game is a tough challenge: a road game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
