Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad offensive lineman Jarron Jones has been arrested on Saturday on multiple charges relating to domestic violence.

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Jones has been charged with aggravated assault, strangulation and simple assault for choking and hitting the woman she is dating in the face. The 26-year-old also allegedly threw the woman outside.

Per the report, Jones was arrested after police authorities received and responded to a call of domestic violence incident at 2 a.m. The police said they encountered a woman crying, who told them that there had been a physical altercation between her and the Steelers player.

The woman then detailed the incident and even showed police the abrasions on her face and swelling on her forearm.

Following the arrest, the Steelers immediately made a statement and noted that they are looking into the matter, which they highlighted to be “disturbing allegations.”

“We are aware of the situation regarding Jarron Jones. We are gathering all of the details of these disturbing allegations, but we will not comment any further at this time,” the Steelers organization said, per NBC Sports.

There is an ongoing investigation on the matter, which could result to dire consequences for Jarron Jones if proven guilty.
