The Pittsburgh Steelers have been put in a bit of a tough bind with star running back Le'Veon Bell deciding to continue to hold out away from the team.

However, Bell has voiced that he plans on returning to the team during their Week 7 bye. Even with that expected clarity given, the Steelers are believed that they won't rescind his franchise tender for the 2018 season while continuing to look for possible trades, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell plans to return to the team in less than two weeks. This gives the Steelers more than enough time to rescind the franchise tender, if they are simply ready to move on from him. Per a league source, they don’t intend to.

But they’ll also have a window to trade him, if they’d prefer to simply move on. If Bell returns during Week Seven, the Steelers will be able to move Bell until the window closes on the Tuesday after Week Eight. Per a league source, the Steelers continue to consider the possibility of getting what they can for Bell before the trade deadline.

It is clear that the Steelers are ready to move on from the situation but are hoping that the 26-year-old can attract a huge haul in trade talks around the league. The tough part in this entire ordeal is that Bell is on the final year of his contract which could make him a loan player for this season as he could easily bolt via free agency.

It is still a fluid situation that the Steelers could easily move off of if the right deal presents itself to the franchise prior to the trade deadline. The fact that he has continued to hold out looks to have rubbed the team the wrong way even more so as there is no certainty that he will be on the roster once he does make his return.

Ultimately, there could much more to come on this front over the next few weeks as the Steelers sort through the potential trade interest around the league.
