Johnny Holton has found a new home. The speedy wideout is signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers, per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. Terms of the deal weren't immediately announced, but it's probably safe to assume it's a one-year deal.

Holton was waived by the Philadelphia Eagles last week, so it didn't take too long for him to bounce back.

A Cincinnati product, Holton originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2016. He signed with the Oakland Raiders, and ended up making the team. He appeared in 15 games as a rookie, mostly on special teams.

He spent most of the next couple seasons with the team, although he bounced back and forth between the practice squad and active roster last season. The Eagles signed him to a reserve/futures deal in January, but he lasted less than four months with Philly.

He's always been known as a burner, and can help out in a variety of ways. While his biggest impact is likely to come on special teams, he did show a little bit of promise as a deep threat in 2017.

In the only year he ever received meaningful snaps on offense, he turned 18 targets into nine receptions for 218 yards and three touchdowns.

That's a 24.2 yards per reception average, which is very impressive albeit on a limited sample size. The Steelers are leaving no stone unturned in their search for receiving depth, and they now have 11 wideouts on their 90-man roster.

While Holton has some theoretical upside, it would be pretty surprising to see him make much of an impact in 2019.
