The Pittsburgh Steelers are 1-1-1 without their star running back Le'Veon Bell, but they are actively seeking opportunities to trade him. The Steelers recognize that they could acquire a player to make their team better this season with a trade. However, they have a steep asking price.

According to NFL.com, Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert is seeking a second-round draft pick and a “good” player in exchange for Le'Veon Bell. Nobody is sure what qualifies a player as “good”, but it's definitely a hefty price to pay, considering Bell would likely walk next season if he is not offered a lucrative multi-year deal.

Bell is technically not under contract right now. In order to be traded, he would have to sign the franchise tender the Steelers offered him this offseason, which is worth $14.54 million. The trade deadline is October 30, and it's approaching rapidly. If Bell isn't traded by then, he'll need to sign his franchise tender by November 13. Otherwise, he can't become a free agent in 2019.

No NFL team has been linked to interest in the Steelers' request so far. Essentially, only a team with lots of cap space and commitment to a long-term agreement should sign Bell. The Steelers are scheduled to play four more games before the trade deadline. They'll face the Baltimore Ravens, Atlanta Falcons, Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns.

Bell's replacement James Conner ran for 135 yards and two scores in his first NFL start. However, he has a total of 78 rushing yards over the course of the last two weeks. If the Steelers can't find a trade partner soon, they may have to lower their asking price.
