Through the first 12 weeks of the season, the New Orleans Saints have been one of the biggest surprises currently holding one of the best records in the league. A huge part of that has been the stellar play of rookie running back Alvin Kamara, who has quickly become one of the most dynamic offensive talents at his position.
According to Nick Underhill of Underhillandwest.com, Kamara is putting up eye-popping numbers in his yards per rush attempt.

Although his workload in the run game is significantly less than many players on that list, Kamara has proven to make the most of those opportunities. He has been an explosive runner when he is given the opportunity while playing off Mark Ingram that has given the Saints a dangerous running game.
What has been equally, if not more, impressive is his skills as a receiver as he has hauled in 54 catches for 548 receiving yards. This includes joining Hall of Famers Gale Sayers and Charley Taylor as just the third rookie to have 500-plus scrimmage yards, three or more rushing touchdowns and three or more receiving touchdowns in a single month.
His ability to impact the game in both facets of the game has made him one of the most exciting rookies in the league. He could be well on his way to earning the NFC Offensive Rookie of the Year award while being a critical piece to the puzzle in helping make the Saints in a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
