With the NFL season just a month away, and training camp now in full swing, the San Francisco 49ers are ready to bounce back huge next season and climb their way back into the elite of the NFC with the hopes of making another Super Bowl appearance in 2022. Only this time the Niners will look to bring the Lombardi Trophy back to the Bay Area.

Now just a couple days into training camp, the Niners are already showing a ton of promise on both sides of the ball. Between a down to the wire quarterback competition, a revived defensive line, and a returning receiving core that's coming in hot, the Niners have a lot to look forward to in the 2021-22 NFL season.

There's knowing what head coach Kyle Shanahan will cook up this season, but one thing that is certain is that there's been three pleasant surprises standing out for the team early on in 2021 NFL training camp. So without further interruption, let's take a detailed look at what those three surprises have been thus far.

49ers Training Camp Highlights

Jimmy G has had a strong showing

After being sidelined for the majority of last season with an ankle injury, Jimmy Garoppolo is looking like a refined version of himself during the first few days of training camp. He's playing with a ton of flare and flinging 30-40 yard bombs down field while leading game winning drives during their scrimmages. He's flinging bullets and hitting his receivers every time on 10-15 yard crossing routes.

Jimmy G has even had a few rushing touchdowns to showcase his skills as a mobile quarterback. Despite how much Trey Lance has impressed the 49ers coaching staff already, Jimmy G has shown a ton of promise and resurfaced as a legitimate starter in this league. THe only catch to this is whether or not he'll be able to keep this up for an entire season.

Due to recent injuries and his inconsistent play, the team definitely had their doubts about him moving forward, but with Jimmy Garoppolo now looking fresh and rejuvenated, he seems poised to get this team back on track and into playoff contention with the hopes of bringing a title back to the Bay Area.

Nick Bosa and Dee Ford are back with a vengeance

Coming off injury riddled seasons, Nick Bosa and Dee Ford are looking revived and ready to absolutely crush it in 2021. Both Bosa and Ford are showing flashes of their old selves and bringing their all to the Niners pass rush game early on in training camp. This a great sign for the Niners, especially seeing as they constantly had to make changes to their defensive line last year due to lingering injuries and healthy and safety protocols taking place all season.

Looking to start with a clean slate in 2021, Bosa and Ford are ready to lead the Niners frontline alongside Fred Warner who was the team's defensive anchor last year. Now that San Francisco is expected to have their front seven back healthy next season, there's no doubt that they'll return to form as one of the league's most fearsome defensive lines. It doesn't seem like anybody expected Ford and Bosa to be back at full strength and bringing their A-game this quickly, but that can only be good news for the Niners.

Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk are looking like a top-ten receiving duo

Getting off to a hot start at training camp, Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk have both been killing it from the get-go. With Jimmy G being the likely candidate at starting quarterback this season and continuing to improve and expand his game, Samuel and Aiyuk definitely will benefit from this and pick apart secondary's all season long with their speed, agility, and athleticism.

Both receivers have showcased a ton of explosion and steady hands both in deep coverage and in the open field, making them a highly skilled receiving core that will elevate the 49ers offense during the 2021-22 NFL season. If they can maintain this level of efficiency, then Samuel and Aiyuk will be vital in San Francisco's quest to winning back the NFC West and making another Super Bowl appearance.
