The San Francisco 49ers' offseason started off sooner than they'd have liked after their NFC Championship game loss to the Los Angeles Rams. The franchise will have some big decisions to make, with the possible contract extension of wide receiver Deebo Samuel one of the items on the table. Samuel spoke about a contract extension and got brutally honest on the possibility, via NBC Sports.
“That is not my call. That is out of my hands,” Samuel said, via multiple reports.
49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel kept it real on a possible contract extension, saying that it is “out of his hands.” Samuel is technically eligible for an extension, given that 2022 will be his fourth season in the NFL.

Samuel led the team in receiving yards, receptions and tied for the team lead in receiving touchdowns while also leading the team in rushing touchdowns.
Few other wideouts in the league do as much as what Samuel was asked to do for the 49ers this season. He emerged as a versatile star in the league and deserves to be compensated for his efforts.
However, like Deebo Samuel said, a contract extension is out of his hands. It's up to the 49ers.
