The San Francisco 49ers have added a little more depth signing defensive lineman Damontre Moore to a contract according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Moore started out his career with the New York Giants after being selected in the third round of the 2013 NFL draft. He played the first couple years of his career with the Giants but have since bounced around playing with the Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks, Dallas Cowboys, and the Oakland Raiders.

Last season he only played two games with the Raiders but was quickly waived and there had to be some thought if his NFL career was over.

He did play with the San Diego Fleet of the Alliance of American Football where he did impress recording 22 tackles, seven sacks, and one fumble recovery.

Before making it to the NFL he was a standout with the Texas A&M Aggies appearing in 38 games during his time at College Station racking up 197 tackles and 26.5 sacks.

Moore spent time with the 49ers earlier this offseason signing on April 5th but just a little over a month later he was released and back on the free-agent market.

Moore's strength is rushing the passer and it's something that the 49ers could really use another one of on their roster. It's unclear how good of a shot he has to make the roster but being on the team right now means he can prove to the coaches that he belongs, and that's all that can be asked for at this point of Moore's career.
