The San Francisco 49ers have agreed to trade for New York Jets offensive linebacker Jordan Willis, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Terms of the trade haven't been fully disclosed, but it comes as an intriguing move for the 49ers.

Jordan Willis will join a 49ers O-line that recently had an eye-catching outing in a win against Aaron Donald and the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

Through six weeks of action, Willis has only played in two games, making no standout performances in either. From the Jets' standpoint, it makes sense to move Willis after finding no real use for him on offense. New York has made a few questionable moves so far, as they also released Le'Veon Bell, signaling that they may be looking in a different direction for the remainder of the season.

The former Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year will end his two-year stint with the Jets, playing in a total of 11 games. During that span, he totaled seven tackles along with two quarterback hits. He also owned one forced fumble during that timespan.

The 49ers have been looking to get back on track after a slow start to the season following a slew of injuries to most of their key players. Jimmy Garoppolo appeared slightly hobbled still against the Rams in Week 6, but he was protected heavily by the offensive line. Due to their efforts, he was able to complete nearly 70 percent (69.70) of his passes for 268 yards along with three touchdowns. While his passing precision could've been better, the nagging ankle injury likely hindered his mobility in some instances.

The 49ers will look to continue their winning ways against the New England Patriots in Week 7.

UPDATE: The Jets are trading Willis and a 2021 seventh-round pick for a 2021 sixth-round pick, per Pelissero.
