The San Francisco 49ers will hit the road to square off against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 13. While everyone is fixated on Lamar Jackson, Jimmy Garoppolo is set to have a massive performance against the Ravens.

Since the beginning of the season, many have questioned the legitimacy of Garoppolo as San Francisco's franchise quarterback. Garoppolo got off to a slow start, throwing for 1,314 yards, seven touchdowns, and six interceptions in his first six starts.

Along with those numbers, Garoppolo also fumbled the ball five times, losing two of them. Despite his evident struggles, San Francisco was able to go 6-0 in that span of games.

Then, over his past five games, Garoppolo has responded well with 1,417 yards, 13 touchdowns, and four interceptions. Above all, the 28-year-old quarterback has been able to complete 68.8 percent of his passes as he's led the 49ers to a 10-1 record.

After getting a chance to face the Arizona Cardinals twice in the past month, Garoppolo will face his stiffest challenge of the season on Sunday. In recent weeks, the Ravens' defense has undoubtedly been one of the most dominant groups in the NFL.

Since acquiring Marcus Peters in Week 7, Baltimore has forced 11 turnovers and has only given up an average of 12.4 points per game. Along with Peters, the Ravens have plenty of talent on defense in Matthew Judon, Earl Thomas, and Marlon Humphrey.

While Peters is an elite ballhawk, he can also surrender big plays due to being aggressive. There's going to be times that he baits the quarterback and other times he'll allow a 60-yard touchdown.

Of course, their secondary is strong, making it tough on Garoppolo to be able to have success through the air. Nevertheless, Garoppolo showed last week that he can make the plays in the passing game when needed.

Garoppolo aired it out for 253 yards and two scores in last week's blowout win over the Green Bay Packers. Above all, it was Garoppolo's third game of the season where he avoided turning the ball over.

For the 49ers to upset the Ravens on the road, Garoppolo is going to have to play a clean game from under center. Luckily for San Francisco, he has proven that he can play that style of football in recent weeks.

Without a doubt, Garoppolo is getting hot at the perfect time of the season. The handsomely paid quarterback will look to continue his recent success against a stingy Ravens' defense in Week 13.

This game will likely be a good litmus test to see whether or not Garoppolo can win a game when he's asked to throw more. With that being said, barring he doesn't turn the ball over, Garoppolo is in line for a massive performance.
