San Jose Sharks wing Evander Kane has built a reputation as one of the best goal-scorers in the NHL. That's why, even amid a 21-game suspension he accrued for the use of a fake vaccination card, Kane is drawing a decent amount of trade interest among NHL teams.
Worked the phones over the last two weeks to get a picture of how the NHL trade market is shaping up.
Here’s what I’m hearing about what teams and players could be in play (ESPN+) https://t.co/a9rJnzKqHD

The NHL's trade deadline is still a few months away, though teams are still beginning to work the phones when it comes to Sharks' star Evander Kane, as reported by ESPN's Emily Kaplan.
Kane, 30, has averaged 28 goals and 26 assists per season over his 12-year career, spanning campaigns with the Atlanta Thrashers, Buffalo Sabres, Winnipeg Jets, and currently, San Jose. The veteran wing would be quite the acquisition for a contending team, for which Kane has interest in playing for, especially considering what Kaplan noted about his salary.
Kaplan reports that interested NHL teams are looking for a third-party club to help foot the bill of Kane's $7 million salary, though that figure would shrink a bit if the Sharks decided to eat some of his salary. A buyout is also ont he table, though San Jose likely wouldn't initiate that until the offseason.
That would open the door for Kane to play for a contender at a reduced, $1.75 million figure, which as Kaplan notes, would increase the list of interested teams by a wide margin.
Perhaps the only snag in the trade talks is Kane's conduct off the ice, as evidenced by the fake vaccine card scandal, among other things. However, contending NHL teams with a good head coach at the mantle and strong locker room cultures would be the ideal locations for the Sharks' star.
The NHL trade deadline is still a ways away, but trade rumors are starting to heat up over Sharks wing Evander Kane. It will be interesting to see what San Jose decides to do.
