The remake of the original NieR game made an impact in the gaming community when it released earlier this year. However, NieR Replicant only came out for the PS4, Xbox One, and Windows. The game can't be fit on the Nintendo Switch, even if it's a remake of an eleven-year-old game.

But this might not be the case, and there might be more than meets the eye.

Redditor u/SkacikPL shared his observations on recent events that he says are proof that a Nintendo Switch version of the game will be coming. “6 months ago, it was rumored due to listings,” he says first, providing a link to a previous Reddit post. This post lists both NieR Replicant and Prince and Persia remakes coming to Nintendo Switch, based on Amazon listings.

Meanwhile, new clues have been uncovered through data mining. “Through datamining it's possible to dig out references to NX (Switch codename) graphics preset files, giving credence to original rumor.” He included an image of code from the data mined.

However, neither Nintendo nor the game's publisher Square Enix has made any indication of this possibility. If the game is coming out on the Nintendo Switch, then why hasn't it been revealed yet? One possibility is that the NieR Replicant game will come out on the Nintendo Switch Pro, the Switch's purported successor. According to rumors, the Nintendo Switch Pro will be revealed prior to E3 2021. This will allow publishers to reveal their games for the new console during E3 2021. If that's the case, then we may gain confirmation on these rumors in a few weeks.
