Denver Nuggets point guard Isaiah Thomas could be hinting that his return is coming soon. The 5-foot-9 scoring guard is still recuperating from a lingering hip injury, which has left him with still no timetable for a return.

Thomas quoted a tweet Wednesday clamoring for his first appearance in a Nuggets uniform. It's a bit cryptic but, it's still a welcome sight for Denver fans:

The 29-year-old All-Star signed a one-year, $2 million contract with the Nuggets this summer. Thomas is just barely two years removed from a terrific year in which he averaged 28.9 points and 5.9 assists for the Boston Celtics. He saw himself bounce from one team to another after that career season, mainly because of the hip injury.

Despite the fact that he has yet to play a single game for the Nuggets, Mike Singer of The Denver Post noted that Thomas has already left an imprint with the team:

When Malone wryly obliged, it was a reminder of why the Nuggets brought Thomas to Denver. They value his voice, his experience, his leadership and his unabashed confidence even as he’s had to painstakingly watch the Nuggets get off to a hot start without him.

It remains to be seen how Nuggets head coach Mike Malone will shuffle his lineups when Isaiah Thomas returns. The good thing is that he is already familiar with the point guard thanks to their time together in Sacramento. Thomas would likely prefer a starting gig, but on an outstanding Nuggets team, he will likely play a key role off the bench.
