It was a sight no one wants to see. As Jamal Murray drove to the rim in the dying minutes against the Golden State Warriors on Monday, his left knee folded even without contact, leaving the Denver Nuggets guard grimacing in pain on the floor.

Fortunately, Murray eventually stood up and was able to walk by himself. Still, it didn't allay the fears of many that he suffered a serious injury, including Nuggets coach Mike Malone. After the game, he admitted that their locker room was in a somber mood following Murray's exit (via Nuggets beat reporter Ryan Blackburn).

As mentioned, Malone said he isn't thinking about their latest defeat, their second consecutive one after also losing to the Boston Celtics on Monday, adding Murray's condition is his utmost concern right now.

The Nuggets are hoping to get Murray's MRI result tonight.

The former Kentucky standout played 33 minutes in their 116-107 loss to the Warriors, finishing with 17 points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals. If he misses extended time, it will be a big blow to the Nuggets' campaign as they are already a little thin in the backcourt, leaving Will Barton and backups Monte Morris, Facundo Campazzo, and PJ Dozier to try to fill the void.

The Nuggets were hoping to make a late surge for the NBA Playoffs with the addition of high-flying forward Aaron Gordon, joining Murray, Nikola Jokic, and Michael Porter Jr. as the main source of offense. But Murray's setback could bring them down a few notches.

The Nuggets, who will face the Miami Heat on Wednesday, can only hope that Jamal Murray can return as soon as possible.
