Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic went down in pain after a knee-to-knee contact with Utah Jazz big man Rudy Gobert.

Late in the second quarter, Jokic was guarding Gobert near the basket. As the Frenchman made his move to attack the rim, he accidentally hit the Serbian's knee. Jokic's knee clearly gave up on him as he fell.

The Nuggets big man writhed in pain and stayed on the floor for a brief moment. He was able to stand up, but he limped off the floor and headed to the locker room to be checked.

In an update from the Nuggets minutes after the injury, they confirmed Nikola Jokic sustained a right knee contusion. The team also labeled him as questionable to return.

Nuggets fans are certainly hoping that Jokic's injury is not serious and that it won't cause him to be sidelined for long. They are already without Jamal Murray who is recovering from a torn ACL, and the team certainly can't afford to lose their best player now.

It is worth noting, though, that Jokic is a true iron man in the NBA. He rarely gets injured, even playing all 72 games in 2020-21. Given his history, at least the Nuggets faithful can see some positives from his conditioning and ability to handle physical ailments.

Before he exited the game against the Jazz, Jokic was playing incredibly well, registering 24 points, six rebounds, and six assists.

**UPDATE: Nikola Jokic has officially been ruled out for the rest of the game. He tested his knee at halftime but was later sent to the locker room.
