After last playing for the Denver Nuggets back in November, the team received promising news a few weeks back when Paul Millsap was cleared to resume basketball-related activities and was even able to practice. While head coach Mike Malone has told reporters the team is expecting a March return, good news came out of Denver as the All-Star forward has already been upgraded to questionable for their game on Tuesday night against the L.A. Clippers.

The four-time All-Star may still end up missing the game, but his status upgrade is a positive sign for him and the Denver faithful, as it means he is very close to returning to action. Millsap has only played in 16 games so far this season, after suffering a wrist injury back in November 19 against the Los Angeles Lakers. Before getting hurt, he was averaging solid numbers of 15.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.3 blocks in 29.7 minutes per game.

Millsap's impending return will be a huge boost for the Nuggets, who have been able to keep in step for a playoff spot in the tough Western Conference. They currently sit on a 33-27 record, good for the eighth spot, but with still 22 games left on their schedule, and only six games separating fourth and 10th place, anything can still happen, which makes his availability very timely for the team.

Will Barton is expected to head back to the bench when Millsap suits up for the Nuggets again, and will push Wilson Chandler to his natural small forward spot. Trey Lyles will most likely take the biggest hit as his playing time could be limited with the veteran power forward's return.
