Earlier in the season, Ohio State football star Emeka Egbuka suffered an ankle injury that resulted in him missing time. However, it was more serious than initially thought.

Ahead of the Cotton Bowl against Missouri, Egbuka revealed that he actually underwent an arthroscopic surgery, per The Columbus Dispatch. It was the same procedure that Georgia tight end Brock Bowers had last fall. It's known as tightrope surgery and Egbuka had it done in October after the Buckeyes beat Maryland.

The wideout expressed how grateful he is for Adam Groth, the surgeon who got him right at the Wexner Medical Center on the OSU campus:

“He got me right,” Emeka Egbuka said. “He did a phenomenal job in there, and shout-out to all the athletic trainers who let me rehab this thing.”

Egbuka was a lot more electric in 2022 with over 1,000 yards receiving. Due to this injury, he's struggled a bit, only reeling in 35 catches for 452 yards. But, he's staying positive:

“It’s been a no-joke injury,” Egbuka said, “but I’m grateful for all the trials and tribulations it’s brought.”

Egbuka will likely be a very key piece in the Cotton Bowl since it appears that projected first-round pick Marvin Harrison is going to sit out the game in order to prepare for the NFL Draft, which is probably the smart move.

Also, Kyle McCord decided to transfer which means Devin Brown will start at QB. The Buckeyes offense will have a much different look on Friday, but at least Emeka Egbuka is at 100% and ready to help his squad finish the campaign on a high note.
