The Edmonton Oilers are an incredibly talented team, and every hockey fan is aware of this. After all, they have the two best players in the NHL on their roster right now. However, despite having Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid, Edmonton has yet to put it all together in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

That said, no one in the Oilers organization is losing faith in what they have. Draisatil himself believes Edmonton has everything they need to go on a deep run. But they just can't get in their own way and put too much on their plate.

“Obviously we want to win a Stanley Cup here, there is no doubt about that. I think we have to be careful in putting too much pressure on ourselves in that way, there are 31 other teams that are trying to do what we’re doing,” Draisatil said, via NHL.com, on Thursday following a skate at Rogers Place.

Draisatil did acknowledge that the team has one goal in their mind. And it echos McDavid's sentiment back in May that it's “Stanley Cup or bust” for the Oilers. It won't be easy by any means. The Vegas Golden Knights are a very formidable defending champion, for example. Up-and-coming teams around the league are also beginning to make their moves.

But their playoff shortcomings brought forth valuable lessons. Edmonton knows what they did wrong and what they need to correct. Now, it's all about making sure this group of players corrects their faults when the bright lights are on.

“There are going to be some ups and downs, but I think we have the group in here to do it. We have the right mindset. We’ve learned a lot over the last couple of years,” Draisaitl said, via NHL.com.
